During Intermediate Literacy this week, Sara brought in a guest speaker from Pizzo to talk to us about Shared Reading and teaching children reading strategies. We defined the difference between modeling and think alouds, the guest speaker defined a think a loud as a magician letting you how he did his magic trick while modeling is a magician doing his tricks. During Teaching Mathematics, we learned different strategies for addition and subtraction such as taking away the tens, then the ones and then adding the 10's to get close then the ones. This Saturday USF hosted a Children's Festival and our teachers recommended we attend. I was surprised to see the residents with a booth, and even enjoyed the math game that had set up.
And thats all for this week,
