And thats all for this week,
Ms. Brookes
![]() Its the end of the semester, the stress is slowly ebbing and I am worn out. I successfully finished my Story of Professional Learning today and submitted a majority of my assignments. Last night, I had a nightmare about waking up when I was supposed to be presenting my project and I hadn't finished it yet then I woke up and realized it was 5 am and it was Sunday. This past weekend has been all about reflection and looking back on the semester. I realized that I'm walking away from this semester a different person than I was when I started. I've learned about differentiation and how that can be done, the difference between close read and cloze read, and how important Social Studies is for students. Overall, this semester has been really wonderful for learning and I can't wait to see what England has in store for me. And thats all for this week, Ms. Brookes

![]() This week was a busy week, both is school and out of school. We did not have class on Friday due to one of the professors coteaching with Tracy on Monday. I was blessed enough to spend two full days in my classroom, which is something I really enjoy doing because I get a broader scope of what the day really looks like. This week I got to work with my enrichment RtI group, I'm pretty excited about taking the lead on this. Right now we're reading "Frog and Toad Together" the book is too easy for these students and I'm using it as a book to set norms and demonstrate what we will be doing twice a week. Monday morning in Tracy's class we went in depth about the different ways to coteach. The CT's had a meeting about coteaching on Thursday and my teacher decided that I will be taking over the math planning after Spring Break. My CT and I also discussed that we'll be moving into coteaching math together with me slowly taking over as lead. Wednesday's class brought about the difference between a close read module and a cloze read module. Close read is when you examine the text carefully aspects you want students to notice while a cloze read (pictured above) is more of a warm up or vocabulary game. The online module for our Friday class was about universal design for learning which when I was first reading about it assumed it was just a fancy way of saying differentiated instruction. Universal design focuses on the 4 learning styles of the student and the planning teachers can make for the learners that learn best in certain ways. And that's all for this week, Ms. Brookes |
